In the middle of the month I took some photos for Bede House, a local charity serving the community in Bermondsey. Most of the pics were at their summer fun-day, but I was also asked to take some shots of Maydew House, a multi-storied building next to their community centre, which is due to be demolished – along with their centre.
Thankfully, the centre will be replaced in the redevelopment proposals. Maydew House is the tall building in the middle distance in this shot, taken from the platform of South Bermondsey station. The picture has a certain emotional appeal to me also because I spent my first few years on this planet in a house quite close to South Bermondsey station, returning to live with my Nan for a few years after university.
